The superior of the New Hampshire branch of St. Benedict Center, Bro. Francis, M.I.C.M., is gravely ill. An early collaborator of Fr. Feeney, S.J. and later M.I.C.M., and Sr. Catherine Goddard Clark, M.I.C.M., Bro. Francis was also one of the four faculty members fired by Boston College during the course of the famous Boston Heresy Case of the late 1940s. He is almost 96 years old and his doctors expect him to enter eternity quite soon. He helped me out once with a well-timed and gracious letter when I was in high school; he basically told me to listen to my mother and to attend our parish’s Novus Ordo Masses with her as long as I was living at home. Good advice. Please pray for him.
