Photos from Cardinal Castrillon’s Mass

The official photographs from yesterday’s Pontifical Solemn High Mass offered by His Eminence Dario Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos are now up here. Feast your eyes and give thanks to God! (Many thanks to Vernon Quaintance for letting us know that the photographs had been posted.)

I have a few questions about what is happening and who is shown in some of the photographs:

To which order do these sisters belong? I didn’t realize that there were any sisters in the UK who would be at such a Mass.

It appears that this religious clad all in white is receiving a special dose of incense. Is that the case and who is he? (It also looked like there was a Benedictine abbot present - who was that?)

The sisters look like the Sisters of Mercy, St Theresa of Calcutta’s order. They are certainly very friendly to the Traditional Mass.

The religious in white is Prior Hugh of the Manchester Norbertines. The Benedictine Abbot next to him is Abbot Cuthbert of Farnbrough, a Solesmes Congregation house.

Joe, thank you! I assume that you were at the Mass?

Those appear to be sisters from the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal.

Mother Theresa’s order is the Missionaries of Charity and their habits are the familiar white sari’s with blue stripes…
