I hope that folks are aware that there is a new CD for sale at the website of Our Lady of the Annunciation of Clear Creek Monastery. It’s an album which includes music from various liturgical feasts in honor of St. Benedict. You can order it online, with paypal, and they’re very prompt about mailing. The cost is $17 (including shipping). My thought is: buy as many of these as you can afford, and give them to family and friends. What could be better than supporting the growth of their monastery - and getting some lovely Gregorian chant at the same time? I have the other three CDs and I’ve listened to them dozens of times.
Also new at the website (I think) is a discourse given by the Abbot of Fontgombault to the community of Catholics which has grown up in the vicinity of Clear Creek. It was given back in 2006, but is worth a read. This was a nice paragraph:
Next, let me point out what the monastery expects to receive from you: respect of our contemplative vocation, respect of our solitude and silence, which are so important for prayer. We also hope that you will support us by your own prayer, and your children’s prayer — the prayer of a child is so strong upon God’s Heart!
