I’m from the Arlington Diocese as well. While there are a number of priests learning the TLM (thanks in part to our bishop who is facilitating arrangements), I am not aware that the bishop is “planning a group of Tridentine parishes.” If he were, I would certainly have heard about it.

Having grown up in the Arlington Diocese, which parish do these priests belong? I wonder if this group had any influence on Bishop Loverde’s decision to grant an indult.

I bet that Diocese on the East coast is the Arlington Diocese. I know a multitude of young priests there who celebrate or want to learn the 1962 Rite.

You didn’t mention the other good news, indeed the Main Event of that email from Angelus press: “Bishop Williamson’s New Book - now shipping.” Could this be true?

In a rare move the Bishop has allowed his letters to be published antehumously. The first volume will cover his seminary days and will eventually be followed by at least three others. Volume two will feature a unabridged section of the Slacks Controversy. Volume three will have all of his inter office memoranda while volume four will be divided into two convenient sections: his email while on vacation and his email while on retreat. Let’s hope he doesn’t keep a scrapbook. On the dust cover, the Bishop maintains that it will be a neck and neck race between his new book and their most popular missal. A Steal at any price.

Certainly interesting! After all the excitement of the release, and then the rather unexciting responses from many of the world’s bishops - not because discouraging, but because they were nothing more than one would have expected - now to hear about priests, who will have to be the life of this restoration, from the bottom up, as it were, to hear about such exciting numbers, it’s great.

I was told in a conversation today that the FSSP is going to have workshops to teach priests the ‘62 Missal. As it was related to me they had something like 70 priests wanting to sign up for 30 slots in the workshop.

It is going to be very interesting to see what happens.

It’s definitely true; over 20 is no exaggeration. Besides individual cases, I heard there were 5 in one religious community signing up for lessons—not with the society but with a parish priest.

It was specifically because of the motu proprio that I put the Angelus Press hand missal at the top of my Amazon advert bar on my site, but I’ve not gotten any orders from click-throughs yet! So much for funding my next pilgrimage from Missal sales royalties… :-(
