He lives in Lake Charles, La. where I live, and a few weeks ago I heard his music live. It was American Requiem in honor of the events of September 11. Unfortunately Mr. Gates has cancer (pancreatic I believe) and when I saw him in person at the concert, he did not look as good as he does in that picture. He does need everyone's prayers.
