Its already out and you missed it.
No- just kidding.
: )
I like this poll thing, Doctor!
With all due respect to the Sovereign Pontiff,I thing it very wrongto be so slow about the Apostolic Exhortation. The Pope said early this summer that he was getting pressure from bishops to release it and he said hehad read a draft.A draft of the document back in June and now we are near the end of October without the final document. The church’s motto supposedly is ‘festina lente”,but our modern age demands well thought out documents but he has had a year. The same thing with the Indult which in its case the more you wait the greater the opposition grows, this was the lesson I thought the Church learned with the delay in issuing Humanae Vitae. Come Lord Jesus ,Come!
November 18, Feast of the Dedication of the Basillicas of Ss. Peter and Paul, after the Holy Father celebrates his first public TLM as Supreme Pontiff in the same.
That would be pretty cool, Jeff.
Just out of curiosity, anybody know when the last public Pontifical Solemn High celebrated by the Supreme Pontiff was?
Are there any more recent than the 1999 one in Weimar?
I actually meant the last Pontifical Solemn High celebrated by the then Pontiff. Was it just the last one of Paul VI?
The Papal Solemn High Mass has some features even more exquisite than the normal Pontifical one. Like the Scriptures being read in Greek as well as Latin, the Pope taking Holy Communion at his throne, the use of the fistula (a straw) for the Precious Blood. Of course, the Greek thing is much more likely than the other two, being rather more ecumenical. And we’ll have to do without a tiara, flabella, and the sedia gestatoria.
That sounds pretty cool, Tobias.
So I gather that ‘Pontifical’ in the context of “Pontifical Solemn High” refers to any Pontiff (i.e. Bishop) and thus not to the Supreme Pontiff. I understand that these terms were taken over from pagan Roman religious organizations.

You ARE actually right. It’s was out 450 years ago - it’s called Quo Primum.
Doctor A,
While I have you attention, just want to say how pleasant it was to meet you and your beloved in places south a few weeks ago.
Take of my friend Dr. E.!
What about it coming out when there is next a ‘resumed’ Magnificat antiphon in Septuagesima?
My Bishop has already announced through his PRguy that since we have the Indult Mass we’re good to go if the day ever comes…and a lovely Indult it is. However, this is a big diocese and far flung. A nice Latin Mass here in my deanary would be great. And miraculous.
In any case…I don’t see it happening anyhow. And if it does, it will be suppressed by the modernists both inside and outside the chan
