   Maybe it’s just me, but I actually find this picture slightly scary. It would be very appropriate with a caption like, “Modernists Beware!” or “Mahoney, You’re Next.”

   Scary or not I still love him.

   I no longer feel I need to hold my breath but I do keep him in my prayers. His job is unimaginably difficult.

   Uh, do we recall the Holy Father’s very long and apparently friendly talk with one Hans Kung? If Kung gets that sort of treatment, I don’t think Mahoney has much to worry about.

   I just said that those captions would match the pictures. I didn’t say they would reflect reality!
