No one knows how to do it quite like the Institute of Christ the King. (I wish that one of their liturgical directors would take over for Archbishop Marini; then we’d have a show!) Here, His Grace, the Archbishop of St. Louis, Raymond Leo Burke, is seen entering St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, his first official visit to the same, for the purpose of conferring the Sacrament of Confirmation. Just look at that canopy! Whose ever seen such a thing!

So many ladies with their heads covered in Christian modesty. It thrills my heart!
Abp. Burke might be well dressed etc., but being a Traditional Roman Catholic, I have to say, that it is not merely about having Roman chasubles and a nice Mass. Burke wanted to sell out entire parishes to pay the heavy debts and claims laid down by victims of homo/pedophile priests of hís archdiocese. Confirming children in a traditional rite is not the way to solve it. The bishop is certainly not “great” or something like it. On top of that, he is an opponent of the Roman Catholic Society of Saint Pius X.
It’s sad, that after seeing a cappa magna and a Roman chasuble with a good hymn, so-called traditionalists loose all connection to reality.
I do not mean this in a condemnatory way, in the sense that I think I can judge Abp. Burke, but I do think it is naive, to live the illusion, that as long as “we have the Old Mass and old sacraments” it’s all “fine”. That is not the case. We will háve to pray hard.
