I’ve joined up with Gregory Lloyd’s “Strength & Honor” brigade. Unfortunately, he and several of his daughters have gotten sick and went home until Saturday. . . .

I was privileged to witness the discipline of the entire St. Gregory’s brigade for a certain altercation unbecoming a pilgrimage.

I’m in worse shape than for the pilgrimage to Chartres, but there’s no question this one is harder. 20 miles today, near 30 tomorrow, and all sorts of hills. No hat and overdressing nearly put me out of commission today, but I’m hoping better for tomorrow, though there’s supposedly a 10 mile mountain to be climbed.

I met a Cornellian who graduated in 2000, and knew the Cornell scene back then, though he didn’t turn trad until he’d been out a few years.

Both Fathers Longua and Pendergrast are here, as well as Fr. Helman of the ICKSP chapel in New Jersey. He’s in charge this year, fresh from the Institute missions in Gabon, and his preaching pleased me most heartily. If he does the final Mass, it should be very impressive.
